Recorded concert at Ceres Hall ('99)

 

This live album features an acoustic guitar concert held in 1999! Experience the blissful acoustics of a large hall, different from studio recordings.

Nagano Butai was in charge of sound, lighting, and stage direction. This company is a professional group that handles stage productions for famous artists. A total of 10 staff members entered the day before the concert, and a careful rehearsal began from the start of the concert. The precise lighting effects and stage production are gradually revealed.  My favorite guitars are 2 Martin D76s and 2 D35s. Why is the number of instruments necessary to play with a peculiar irregular tuning? Each guitar has a piezo pickup system and a custom-made original preamp. Tuning staff are waiting at the stage side. Osamu Kubota supports the stage. He is also the arranger for the albums LIFE and Period. He has worked on numerous commercials, dramas and movie soundtracks.

That day, an unexpected heavy snowfall occurred in the afternoon. I stared blankly from the dressing room window as the snow continued to fall. But this snow felt like something destined to me. I had prepared several unreleased songs for this concert, including "Snow Chapter 1" and "Snow Chapter 2." During the performance, a winter-barren tree was projected on the screen, and confetti representing snow flew on the stage. These songs are included on the album "Period." Soon the concert was reaching its climax...

​I felt like I was drifting gently in a sea of ​​concentration I had never experienced before. I will never forget that concert on that snowy day.
